FreeThe public is invited to attend a World Affairs Forum Great Decisions event featuring William Sweet, Adjunct Instructor in European History, City University of New York, and independent writer. Professor Sweet will speak on “Climate and Food” at the New Canaan Library on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
This event is free and open to the public. The program will begin at 7:00 pm in the Lamb Room. The New Canaan Library is a co-sponsor of the program. About the speaker:
William Sweet is the author of Kicking the Carbon Habit: Global Warming and the Case for Renewable and Nuclear Energy, which was published in June 2006. He is now working on a book about the diplomacy of climate change.
Sweet has been a blogger for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Spectrum web site and the Foreign Policy Association’s web site, and previously served as Senior News Editor, Senior Editor and Senior Associate Editor, IEEE Spectrum. In addition, he was Associate Editor of Physics Today and a staff writer for the Congressional Quarterly.
He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and International Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago.
