Sunday, January 25, 2 -3:30pm: Photo Explorations
In this workshop, we will explore a variety of photographic techniques, with an emphasis on becoming comfortable experimenting with the camera and “seeing” like a photographer. We will go on a photographic treasure hunt, experiment with reflections and motion, and celebrate different perspectives. You are welcome to bring your own camera or may use one of ours. No prior photography experience is necessary, yet even experienced photographers will come away with new ideas.
Sunday, February 1, 2-3:30 pm: Photography as Art
The current exhibit highlights the evolution of photography and features a variety of creative approaches, from shadowy pinhole images to prints embossed with gold, to detailed digital compositions. In this workshop, we will explore photography as an art form and use photographs as the base for a variety of artworks, including an interactive collage.
Exhibiting Artist and Winner of the Juror’s Selection Prize, Julie Stauffer will teach an iPhone Workshop for adults.
Monday, January 26th, 9:30am -12pm
$40 per person and reservations on the website are required since space is limited.
The iPhone has become that ubiquitous device that travels with us on a 24/7 schedule. Some professional photographers use their iPhone as a camera utilizing the same apps that are available to anyone for as little as $1.99 and some are even free. These apps will expand the potential of this device as a legitimate and exceedingly responsive camera. In this brief workshop, participants will download apps and experiment with different cameras and then learn to adjust images with post processing apps. We will photograph during class time, and then work on those images with the new downloads. By the time the class is over, you will be able to go home and use your iPhone with technical proficiency as a camera!
REQUIREMENTS
Participants must know how to use their Apple Account username and password and have a fully charged iPhone. It is strongly suggested that you have iOS7 or iOS8 on your iphone.
About The Carriage Barn Arts Center
