Beatriz Milhazes Unveiling

FreeCelebrate the one year anniversary of Grace Farms with special programming October 8-15, titled “Possibilities Are Endless,” beginning with the public unveiling of Moon Love Dreaming, a permanent piece of site-specific art from renowned Brazilian artist, Beatriz Milhazes. A colorful 108 foot-long wall painting extending the length of the West Barn hallway, Milhazes’ piece joins other public art installations at Grace Farms by Thomas Demand, Teresita Fernández, Olafur Eliasson, and Susan Philipsz, all of which are freely available for viewing during public hours.
Grace Farms will be open to the public (free) 10am–7 pm. Moon Love Dreaming will be on view all day, in addition to regular calendar programming.
10am–7pm:

4pm (Sanctuary):
Remarks by Beatriz Milhazes and Yuko Hasegawa, Grace Farms Foundation’s curatorial advisor. Wendy Whelan, former principal dancer of New York City Ballet, will present an excerpt from her collaboration with Brian Brooks, “Some of a Thousand Words,” and Li-Young Lee, winner of Lamont Poetry Selection from the Academy of American Poets, will read his poetry in response to the wall painting.
The program will be followed by a champagne toast in the West Barn.
