Art of High School Senior Camaren Dayton on Exhibit at Gores Pavilion
Thursday, June, 1, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The New Canaan Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit at the Gores Pavilion in Irwin Park on June 1. A reception will be held that evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and the public is welcome.
Camaren Dayton, a senior at New Canaan High School, will show twelve computer generated drawings of modern buildings in town, including the Gores Pavilion, the Glass House and Grace Farms. Each 20 x 30 inch image is imaginatively enhanced with colorful, geometrical patterns inspired by the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. The work was created for her Advanced Placement Studio Art 2-D Design course under the guidance of Jeanne McDonagh.
Camaren, who has grown up in a modern house, is headed to Duke University to study engineering. “When people look at my work,” Camaren says, “I hope they are intrigued by the balance of lines and colors and appreciative of the simplicity of modern homes.”
The Gores Pavilion is located in Irwin Park at 848 Weed Street in New Canaan. It is generally open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am-3 pm through October 29. For more information, please call The New Canaan Historical Society at (203) 966-1776, or visit
