Police arrested a 30-year-old Stamford man after midnight Monday and charged him with driving under the influence after he failed field sobriety tests on South Avenue.
At about 12:53 a.m. on Sept. 7, an officer saw the man swerving while traveling southbound on South Avenue, and stopped the car near Colonial Court, according to a police report.
There, the officer, smelled alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests, and also administered a Breathalyzer, which found that the man’s blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit, the report said.
The man was additionally cited for failure to maintain the proper lane of travel.
He was released on $260 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 17 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
