Police early Monday arrested a 22-year-old New Canaan man in connection with the theft of three cellphones from a local business.
At approximately 1:11 p.m. on July 19, officers were dispatched to the newly opened AT&T store on Elm Street on a report that three iPhones had been stolen, according to a police report.
The devices were worth a combined $1,800, the report said.
The store manager identified a store employee and resident of Millport Avenue as a suspect. During the subsequent investigation, the man confessed to taking the cellphones.
He surrendered to the police at 4:44 a.m. on July 22, and was charged with fourth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor offense.
Police released the man after he promised to appear July 30 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
