Police are investigating the theft of a $6,800 mini-excavator from a commercial nursery on Frogtown Road last week.

At 2:07 p.m. on Nov. 17, officers were dispatched to the business on a report of the missing Bobcat as well as the $1,800 trailer on which it had been parked, according to the police report.

The complainant told police that the utility vehicle and trailer had been missing for about two weeks.

Two women told police that some of their outdoor clothing was stolen from a stone wall outside Waveny House one morning last week.

At 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 16, the women said they placed a jacket and zip-up sweater on the wall near Waveny House to go for a run, and had been gone about 15 minutes when at 9:30 a.m. they discovered that the items were gone, according to a police report.

Though police have requested that video cameras be placed in Waveny for years, especially following a rash of motor vehicle break-ins, there are none.

One of the victims is a New Canaan woman, the other a woman from Scarsdale, N.Y., police said.

There are no suspects at this time. Police are investigating.
