Police on Saturday night arrested a 65-year-old West Haven man by warrant and charged him with second-degree larceny and second-degree forgery.
On March 18, New Canaan Police took a complaint from a Forest Street business about a check that went missing and later was cashed for $20,000, officials said.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that the check had been cashed at a Chase bank in Bridgeport, according to a police report. Police soon learned that the West Haven man had cashed it, the report said.
New Canaan Police obtained a warrant for the felony offenses. At about 9:02 p.m. on July 21, the man turned himself in.
He was released on $20,000 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 2 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
