Police late Wednesday night arrested a 21-year-old Bridgeport man and charged him with several motor vehicle and drug charges.
At about 11:43 p.m. on March 8, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle traveling on New Norwalk Road that failed to maintain the established lane, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled marijuana coming from within the vehicle, the report said.
The officer then found that the driver’s license had been suspended and that the plate on the car belonged on a different vehicle, it said.
Police charge him with misuse of registration plate and operating a motor vehicle under suspension and also cited the man with failure to drive right and possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana.
The man was released after promising to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
