Police on Saturday arrested a 51-year-old Narragansett, R.I. man and charged him with disorderly conduct.
At about 2:42 p.m. on May 4, officers were dispatched to a residential treatment facility on a report of a staff member who had been struck by a patient, according to a police report.
A police log for that day shows that a criminal arrest was made following an assault at 208 Valley Road.
Following an investigation, police determined that the man had slapped a staff member there in the face, the report said.
Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person, among other reasons.
Police released the man after he promised to appear May 17 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
