Police on Sunday night arrested a 54-year-old Westchester County, N.Y. woman late Sunday and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 11:43 p.m. on Oct. 8, an officer on patrol saw a vehicle traveling northbound on New Norwalk Road that failed to stay in the established lane, according to a police report.
The vehicle crossed the double-yellow line into the oncoming traffic lane and then veered back and crossed the white fog lane, traveling on the shoulder of the northbound side, the report said.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath, it said. She’s from Waccabuc, N.Y.
She failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a test to determine blood-alcohol content, police said.
She additionally was cited for failure to drive right.
Police released the woman on $260 bond and scheduled her to appear Oct. 18 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
