Police on New Year’s Eve arrested a 53-year-old Richmond Hill Road woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 9:27 p.m. on Dec. 31, an officer on patrol saw her drinking from a green bottle while driving on Elm Street, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer found her to be drinking an alcoholic beverage while driving the car, the report said.
The woman failed field sobriety tests, it said. She refused to undergo a test to establish her blood-alcohol level. Police additionally cited her for drinking while driving.
She was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 14 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
