For this installment of Street Style—our second, after catching up with Lucy and Poppy from Jolly Old one week ago—we talk to Tori Caserta. She’s a Stamford resident who has been working since around Thanksgiving at Pimlico, a “Unique Chic” home furnishings, fixtures and accessories shop on the corner of South and Elm.

New Canaanite: What are you wearing?

Tori: I’m wearing women’s brown Timberland shin-high boots, Madewell jeans, a Fossil black belt, a Madewell shirt and a blue blazer.

How would you describe in one phrase or sentence your own style sense?

In general or today?

In general.

Variable. (Laughs.)

What about today?

Work-casual.

How would you describe the New Canaan style, based on what you’ve seen of the town?

It depends on the person. A lot of moms come in here. Most of them are very, very well-dressed. Sometimes there are women coming in wearing gym clothes, and those are also very fashionable gym clothes. There is very minimal scrubbing around here.

What would be your style tip?

For people here or in general?

In general.

OK. ‘In general’ is better. Always be comfortable. I am not a heels person. A nice pair of boots is key, because they’ll generally go with anything, casual or not casual. I wear boots to work but I’ll also wear them to the city to go out.
