Tragic news reported by The Advocate: A 2-month-old baby girl from New Canaan died in Stamford on Tuesday evening, hours after she developed a problem breathing at daycare. The newspaper’s crime and courts reporter writes that police are calling the cause of death blunt-force head trauma, and the incident has been classified as a homicide. Her family lives on Locust Avenue, the newspaper reported. The Stamford Police detective overseeing the case was not immediately available for comment. Full article here.

Letter: ‘Thank You’ for a Wonderful Wedding

On July 9th our daughter Deanna Balzano married Joseph Lasala of Wilton at Saint Aloysius Church followed by a reception at the Waveny Mansion. On behalf of our family, we would like to thank all those who helped make Deanna (NCHS Class 2009) and Joe’s wedding a memorable one. It all started with Saint Aloysius and especially Father Cyrus and Anne Marie who guiding Deanna and Joe throughout, including the perfect marital ceremony. At Waveny Mansion, we want to thank Steve Benko along with Bea and Debbie from the office who kept us organized and then on the wedding day, Butch, who ensured that the Mansion looked like the Town jewel that it is. Regarding the big day, the bride and her 10 bridesmaids went to two amazing local salons that started the celebration off right.
