DUI Arrest for Man, 19, After Vehicle Goes Down Embankment
|
A 19-year-old man appears to have been uninjured after his car went down an embankment off of Buttery Road at about 3 a.m. Sunday, police said. New Canaan police gave this account (containing accusations not proven in court) of the incident:
Police were called at 3:12 a.m., and when they got to the scene, the driver was seen standing outside the vehicle in the woods. The driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, so field sobriety tests were administered. He didn’t pass them. He refused a blood-alcohol test at New Canaan Police Headquarters.
