On Thursday, August 31 at the Pop Up Park, the community is invited to an Overdose Awareness Day & Vigil, starting at 7PM. The purpose of the event is twofold: 1) to honor and remember those who died too soon; and 2) to bring the community together to ask all to help. The event tagline is “Helping Each Other to Heal”.
This event invites the community to participate: Engage – interact with the Hope & Remembrance Wall, get informed from resources & experts in attendance, and enjoy live music; Listen – to both parents and young people in recovery share their real-life experiences and hope; and Honor – participate in a Candlelight Vigil with lighting of candles, music, and pledge of commitment from clergy and community members.
