Emotions Matter. They inform our thinking and decisions, the quality of our relationships, our physical and mental health, and everyday performance. Emotional intelligence includes the ability to recognize, label, and regulate emotions. These skills are especially important for developing healthy child-parent relationships, problem solving skills, empathy, and academic performance. Please join us to hear Dr. Marc Brackett, a nationally acclaimed speaker, discuss his research and work in the area of Emotional Intelligence. Family members will learn: the science of emotions, the skills of emotional intelligence, and both practical strategies and tools to develop their emotional intelligence.

Marc Brackett, Ph.D. is Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. He also is a Senior Research scientist in Psychology and Faculty Fellow in the Edward Zigler Center in Child Development and Social Policy. Dr. Brackett is the author and co-author of 100 scholarly publications, as well as the co-developer of RULER- an evidence based approach to social emotional learning. For the last four years, Dr. Brackett has collaborated with Facebook to help manage online bullying, provide resources for families, and to help school build more positive learning environments.
